Fungus

Well things around the area(Saint John N.B.Canada)remain about the same.It seems that when people start to get a bit fustrated with music they tend to complain but do very little to change or to remedy the cause of the fustration.I refer again to music jams,be they country, bluegrass or what ever. Some people think it is not fair that a little country bleeds into a bluegrass jam or a bit of bluegrass bleeds into a country cam.I for on love a bit of almost every style of music.True if I am seeking bluegrass,I go to a bluegrass jam.For the most part,I tend to get what I am after at these jams.Bluegrass jams are mostly bluegrass and country jams are mostly country.I dont mind the odd tune that is not realy what Im looking for.It tends to give me a break .Im a true lover of Bluegrass and also of country music.I dont see anything realy wrong with combining a bit of each every now and then.Music is music. As long as it is done well and in good taste,I love it..If I find Im not getting the type of music that I sek ,I ask about making changes to the jams.If these changes are not made I either learn to live with the way things are or I move on and try to find what Im looking for. From my past experiances,I know that it is almost impossiable to please everyone. What we do is try to please as many as we can.Lets not condemn these jams that we dont like.Lets work together to make these jams better,or lets start jams that will be what we want. This of course is only my oppinion.I look forward to hearing from others and see what theyre oppinions are Fungus

Fungus

Well once again it seems that thw world doesnt turn the way it should.Just when things seem to be starting to go the right way, something interferes and causes people to get their emotions raised up.What Im refering to is the weekly Monday evening Bluegrass Jams. All though it wasnt truely Bluegrass,it was a good evening of jamming.I always looked forward to the evening.I know we should stick to learning to improve or playing in the field of music that we choose(Bluegrass)but like most things, people dont all agree with what is Bluegrass.I know that it would be nice to have only bluegrass at these jams, but in the small region that we live in,this is virtualy impossiable. At least jamming every Monday we are keeping our fingers limber and we always learn something.Maybe like an old friend of mine says, maybe every second week we only have Bluegrass and on the other weeks maybe we can continue the way it was...Who knows maybe we can eventualy get enough people to realize that Bluegrass is where its at.Of course this is only my oppinion.I look forward to hearing from other people, regarding this matter. This is our forum so lets voice our views...Thanks Fungus

Fungus

Well I just returned from the Gage Town Fall Fair.As usual it was fabulous. The presentations and music there was Great.I believe that it is these Fairs and different festivals that promote local talent that make us as musicians work harder and accomplish more for ourselves and others.I would like to thank the Fair Committee and all those un seen people that work so hard to make these events a success. I hope that we will always have these events to help promote the local talent theat we are so blessed with.Remember music is something that bridges all societies and languages.Music helps to sooth the sole and brighten our outlook on life Fungus

bluegrass mandolin

bluegrass mandolin Well live and learn I guess. It never fails to amaze how much I can learn from so many people. The best part is that it is not always the most experienced people that I learn from.A lot of times a fairly new person can show me things that open my eyes.I suppose its because the simplest things are often over looked by people who have been playing for longer periods of time.I guess that is why we must always be on the alert to pick up new things from the most unpredictable of people or places.I hope that we all are able to learn from what Ive just told you Fungus
